Role: National LGBT+ Children and Young People s AdvocateBased: Remote UKRate: £15.50 PAYE or £20ph umbStart Date: ASAPDuration: Temporary ongoingHours: 35 hours per week RemoteOur client, a specialist LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is looking for a National LGBT+ Children and Young People s Advocate to join their growing Children and Young People s team.The National LGBT+ Children and Young People s Advocate will provide specialist advocacy and support to LGBT+ children and young people aged who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime and/or so-called conversion practices. Working remotely across the UK, the postholder will provide a safe, supportive and empowering space for young people to talk through their experiences, explore their options and access the support they need.Synopsis of duties:Provide person-centred, trauma-informed and empowerment-based advocacy and support to LGBT+ young people aged .Work directly with young people who have experienced abuse or violence, helping them feel supported, heard and empowered.Provide a safe space for young people to talk through their experiences and think through their options.Advocate on behalf of young people with mainstream and specialist services, ensuring their voices and experiences are represented.Provide support around issues including wellbeing, safety, access to services and criminal and civil justice processes.Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, working within organisational ..... full job details .....
