Our well-established client based in Hertford are recruiting three Minibus Drivers to join their Transportation Team.- This is a part time, term time permanent position, offering an hourly rate of -13.92 per hour. Successful candidates will be required to work Mon - Fri 6:30am-8:30am, 6:25pm-8:25pm and Saturday 6:30am-8:30am.
Our client would also consider applicants only looking to work either the morning pattern or afternoon pattern.
Job Outline:
The primary objective of this role is to provide safe, reliable transport services for scheduled morning and afternoon routes. This includes general care and maintenance checks of the vehicle before and after each journey. The role may also involve fulfilling other reasonable driving-related duties as required. You will be expected to carry out your duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, emergency protocols, health and safety standards, and operational instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-use safety and condition checks on the vehicle before each journey.
- Maintain accurate mileage and journey logs using provided record sheets.
- Follow assigned pick-up and drop-off routes, ensuring timely collection and delivery of passengers.
- Assist with safe entry and exit from the vehicle, ensuring use of appropriate doors.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy after each shift, including removing rubbish and ensuring all seatbelts are functional and properly stowed.
- Report any vehicle faults, safety concerns, or damage promptly to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when not in use, with windows closed and fuel levels maintained.
- Communicate any incidents or concerns involving passengers or members of the public to the Operations Manager after completing the journey.
- Follow agreed pick-up and drop-off locations; do not make unscheduled route changes.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure the comfort, safety, and appropriate behaviour of passengers during transit.
- Foster effective communication and working relationships with team members and relevant stakeholders.
- Keep management informed of any operational issues or areas of concern in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence with categories D or D1
- A good general level of education (GCSE or equivalent preferred)
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience operating a minibus or coach is desirable
- Confident in navigating both urban and rural roads
- Strong understanding of passenger care and safety
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service
