Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying the agricultural industry, is looking to recruit an experienced Steel Fettler to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in steel fabrication, metal finishing, or engineering manufacturing who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you''ll be responsible for preparing and finishing fabricated steel components used in agricultural machinery and equipment, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.

Key Responsibilities

• Fettling and finishing fabricated steel components.
• Removing weld spatter, sharp edges, and surface imperfections using hand and power tools.
• Grinding, linishing, deburring, and dressing welded assemblies.
• Preparing steel products for painting, coating, or final assembly.
• Inspecting components to ensure they meet quality standards and engineering drawings.
• Using a variety of workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.
• Working closely with welders, fabricators, and production teams to achieve daily production targets.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Steel Fettler, Metal Fettler, Production Operative, Fabrication Operative, or within a similar engineering or manufacturing role.
• Experience using grinders, linishers, and other metal finishing equipment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• A strong understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
