Prospero Teaching are seeking to appoint a number of Mentors in Hayling Island and nearby areas to support young people aged 4-18 years who are: at risk of exclusion, experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)or living with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As referrals increase for the upcoming academic year, we are offering flexible opportunities ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week.
As a Mentor, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Support engagement in activities that promote confidence and social skills
- Encourage emotional resilience and personal development
- Work 1:1 or in small groups, depending on the needs of the learner
About you:

- Youth Work
- Children''s Support Work
- Counselling
- Foster Care
- 1:1 Mentoring or similar roles

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
