Mentor- Behavioural and SEMHLocation: Barking and DagenhamHours: Part-timePay Rate: £25-£30 per hourStart Date: ASAPThe focus of this role is to re-engage young people with learning, build emotional resilience, and develop essential functional and life skills in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver bespoke intervention sessions that support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and re-engagementBuild a consistent, trusting relationship with the young personImplement self-regulation strategies and promote positive behaviour and confidenceCollaborate with families and professionals to ensure cohesive supportTrack and report progress in both emotional development and engagementRequirementsExperience with SEMH or similar behavioural/emotional needsAbility to build rapport quickly and create a safe learning spaceCalm, nurturing, patient approach to managing behaviour and emotional dysregulationEnhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain oneDesirable ExperienceYouth work or PRU backgroundTraining in de-escalation (Team Teach, MAPA, etc.)Knowledge of restorative practice and trauma-informed approachesProspero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
