Mental Health Support Worker
BDS Recruitment are looking for a support worker to work at a new supported living service for men with mental health issues as well as past substance in Kettering. This role is initially ongoing temporary work with a strong possibility of becoming permanent at a later date for the right person. We are looking for a candidate who is immediately available or has a short notice period.
Shifts include:
8 am – 10 pm
8 pm – 10 pm followed by a sleep-in shift 10 pm – 8 am
Pay rate: £13.88 per hour and £50 per sleep-in.
The role is based on a shared rota, but working hours typically total 28 hours plus a sleep-in shift.
You will work as part of a therapeutic community where people (staff and people using the service) work together with shared responsibilities for the upkeep of the environment and for supporting each other. The project is a shared house for four people. This support worker will provide emotional support as well as some practical support in day-to-day tasks. You will be supported by experienced management and colleagues.
Criteria:
Experience of working with vulnerable people in a home, community or education setting.
Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties.
Experience of working in a work team setting.
Available to cover both daytime and sleep-in shifts as well as weekends as part of a shared rota
A current enhanced DBS check
