Mental Health Advisor

We are seeking Mental Health Advisors (MHAs) to join a North East based University and provide specialist support to students experiencing mental health difficulties. This is a newly created role and offers the chance to make a real impact in a higher education setting. As a Mental Health Advisor, you will: Provide 1:1 advice, assessment, and support for students in psychological distress. Carry out risk assessments and develop individual support plans. Liaise with NHS services, GPs, and external agencies to coordinate care. Contribute to safeguarding and crisis management where required. Requirements: A relevant professional qualification (e.g. RMN, Social Worker, or equivalent). Substantial experience in mental health practice. Strong knowledge of risk management, safeguarding, and crisis intervention. Experience in a safeguarding/crisis management role is desirable.
