Use resources to understand underlying science and product strategy related to assigned projectsPerform research to support projects (KEE mapping, data collation, literature and competitive information) to understand brand/market and emerging competitorsUnderstand commercial context and assimilate commercial information for assigned therapeutic areas (with guidance)Ensure awareness of brand strategic objectives in written workAdhere to ABPI code of conduct under guidance and trainingStructure and write straightforward documents (e.g., manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, websites, training programmes, advisory board reports) and prepare reference packsUse therapy area knowledge to meet communication objectives on assigned projects (under supervision)Adapt writing style for different audiences (e.g., primary and secondary care physicians, nurses, patients) under supervisionCreate, maintain and take ownership of assigned projectsFollow quality control processes (accurate referencing, data checking, proofreading) and share therapy area knowledge with the wider teamConfidently liaise with clients with support from senior team and respond promptly to requestsContribute to proposal development and pitch activity; undertake and present research to a pitch teamFacilitate team input via brainstorms and participate in briefing to clarify briefs, timelines, deadlines, and reviewer availabilityPrioritise workload with account leads; identify barriers early and suggest solutionsDemonstrate leadership within the editorial team and support colleagues in both editorial and account rolesShare insights with peers and seek feedback to improve performanceParticipate in performance reviews and deliver against objectivesContribute to editorial deliverables and manage project schedules, budgets and briefsClarify the number of hours available for each project and keep the account team updated on progressComplete timesheets and expense claims accurately and on timeEngage with the medical communications and pharma industries, staying informed on developments, innovations and trendsSeek opportunities to reflect these in project work and share ideas with teamsThis Position Is a Perfect Fit For You If

Experience in medical writing, ideally in an agency settingRelevant degree (preferably Masters) in a science subjectStrong scientific background and ability to learn new therapeutic areas quicklyUnderstanding of the clinical trials process and trial results presentation; knowledge of key statistical variables (e.g., PFS, OS, safety data) and measurement scales used in trialsEnthusiasm for learning and attention to detailClear, concise writing style and awareness of appropriate terminologyUnderstanding of new business processes and terminology; strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skillsIndependent thinker who can own assets while working as part of a teamProfessional presence with client service orientation and urgency when neededAbility to manage upward and communicate deadlines or issues to managersHigh energy; capable of operating in a fast-paced, evolving environmentStrong Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPointEqual Opportunity Statement:
