About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to oversee the mechanical installation works on commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing mechanical services on site, with particular expertise in ventilation and air distribution systems. You will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and supervise all mechanical installation works on commercial construction projects.

Oversee the installation of ventilation systems, including ductwork, air handling units, and associated equipment.

Coordinate mechanical works with other trades, subcontractors, and the main contractor.

Ensure works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.

Monitor site progress, programme schedules, and resource allocation.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure high standards of workmanship.

Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, site procedures, and risk assessments.

Manage and supervise mechanical subcontractors and labour on site.

Attend site meetings and report progress to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager.

Assist with commissioning activities and ensure systems are installed ready for testing and handover.

Maintain accurate site documentation including reports, permits, and installation records.
Requirements

Proven experience working as a Mechanical Site Manager on commercial construction projects.

Strong knowledge of ventilation systems, ductwork installation, and air handling systems.

Background in mechanical building services (HVAC).

Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on site.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry.

Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Qualifications (Preferred)
-
Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
-
CSCS Card (Manager or Supervisor level).
