An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join an established M&E contractor delivering a major rail project in North West London.

This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of mechanical works across a technically demanding rail infrastructure project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, programme, and project requirements.

The successful Mechanical Project Manager will have a strong background in rail or major infrastructure projects, with proven experience managing mechanical packages, subcontractors, engineers, and site teams.

Mechanical fit-out experience is essential, with the successful candidate expected to have a strong understanding of mechanical building services, installation, coordination, and delivery within complex construction environments.

Working closely with the project management, engineering, commercial, and site teams, the Mechanical Project Manager will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical packages from planning and mobilisation through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.

• Manage the delivery of mechanical packages across the rail project at North West London.

• Take responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical works from commencement through to completion.

• Manage mechanical subcontractors, engineers, supervisors, and site teams.

• Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, civil, structural, architectural, and other construction disciplines.

• Manage mechanical fit-out works across the project.

• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, programmes, designs, and technical documentation.

• Ensure mechanical installations are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, standards, and project requirements.

• Coordinate mechanical installation activities within a complex rail infrastructure environment.

• Monitor project progress against the construction programme and ensure key milestones are achieved.

• Coordinate labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, and specialist resources to support project delivery.

• Work closely with the commercial team to monitor variations, changes, and project costs.

• Manage technical queries, RFIs, design issues, and coordination requirements.

• Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on progress, programme, technical issues, and delivery.

• Ensure all mechanical works are delivered in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging, and completion of mechanical systems.

• Identify potential programme, technical, and delivery issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.

• Maintain strong relationships with the client, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

• Support the preparation and completion of handover and O&M documentation.

• Ensure works are delivered to the required quality and project standards.

• Provide leadership and direction to the mechanical project delivery team.

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, Mechanical Construction Manager, or similar senior mechanical delivery role.

• Strong mechanical engineering background within the construction, M&E, rail, or infrastructure sector.

• Previous rail experience is essential.

• Experience working on rail or major rail/infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.

• Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large-scale construction projects.

• Strong mechanical fit-out experience is essential.

• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors, site teams, engineers, and specialist contractors.

• Strong understanding of mechanical building services and installation processes.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, programmes, and technical documentation.

• Experience managing projects through installation, testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover.

• Strong understanding of construction programmes, project coordination, and delivery requirements.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work closely with commercial teams.

• Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, engineers, and site teams.

• Strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.

• Relevant mechanical qualification or equivalent industry experience.

• Salary: £80,000–£90,000, depending on experience.
