Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Build Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires excellent organisational capabilities and a thorough understanding of construction processes, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Liaise with new build gas engineers and plumbers, ensuring smooth site operations
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Ordering materials through simple purchasing system
  • Develop project plans using Microsoft Project, outlining key milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and implement necessary adjustments to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Utilise strong communication skills to provide updates to stakeholders and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • Manage procurement processes, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project activities using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by providing leadership and support to project teams.

Experience

  • Proven experience in project management within the construction industry is essential.
  • Experience in Mechanical works within new build housing (gas, plumbing, heating)
  • Strong management skills with a focus on time management and organisational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project for planning and tracking project progress.
  • Excellent negotiation skills for managing contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Hands on approach to problem solving and quality
