Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Role OverviewThe Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of mechanical equipment and systems. This includes planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and optimise performance. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical equipment and machineryDiagnose faults and carry out effective corrective actionsSupport breakdown response to minimise production or operational downtimeImplement and adhere to preventive maintenance schedulesRead and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manualsEnsure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulationsCollaborate with production, operations, and engineering teamsMaintain accurate maintenance records and reports (CMMS systems where applicable)Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reductionAssist in installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new equipment Key Skills and CompetenciesStrong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumaticsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentGood communication and teamwork skillsFamiliarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS)Understanding of health and safety standards and safe working practices Qualifications and ExperienceHNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, or ..... full job details .....
