Mechanical Fitter
A great opportunity has arisen for a workshop and field-based fitter to join an expanding company who specialise in machine moving. Key Responsibilities: Workshop and Engineering Duties Carry out repairs and maintenance of mechanical equipment to a high standard. Design, develop, and improve engineering solutions for a range of projects. Manufacture and fabricate components and equipment. Perform MIG welding and operate workshop machinery including lathes and other engineering equipment. Identify and specify replacement stock parts and components required for repairs. Ensure all work meets quality, technical, and safety standards. Site-Based Duties Assist with the removal and decommissioning of industrial machinery. Carry out machinery match marking and preparation activities. Undertake floor preparation work, including core drilling. Position, align, level, and secure machinery installations. Support the movement of heavy machinery using skates and specialist equipment. Operate forklifts, plant, and associated equipment where required. Work safely in accordance with site-specific RAMS and health and safety procedures. Beneficials Skills / Qualifications: Educated in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (Level 5/6). Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical hands-on experience.
