Mechanical Fitter

A well-established and reputable engineering manufacturer is seeking a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the assembly and fitting of high-quality equipment.

The Role

You will be responsible for assembling and fitting a range of mechanical components to a high standard, contributing to the production of stainless steel machinery. The role will involve working both in a production environment and, where required, on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit mechanical components to a high standard
• Work from engineering drawings to complete builds accurately
• Carry out motor fitting, stripping, and rebuilding
• Build and assemble pneumatic systems
• Install and fit bearing housings
• Work on special purpose machinery
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation
• Adhere to health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements
• Work effectively as part of a team in both workshop and on-site environments

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical assembly and fitting
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Experience building special purpose machinery
• Good awareness of health & safety practices
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
