As they continue to grow, the company is actively focused on expanding its building services division, aiming to further enhance its reach and capabilities in the construction industryThe OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join our client based from their regional office in Bradford, West Yorkshire. You will have a key role in overseeing building services packages across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning education, commercial, and residential sectors with values between £100k - £5m. Responsibilities will encompass negotiating contract terms, diligently monitoring project progress and performance, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and corporate policies, resolving contractual and technical challenges, and maintaining detailed and accurate records. This position requires close collaboration with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that mechanical systems are executed in accordance with the highest quality standards, within established timelines, and budgetary constraints.What We’re Looking ForQualifications:SMSTSValid CSCS / JIB CardFirst Aid (desirable however this is not essential)Experience:An extensive background in mechanical engineering and comprehensive knowledge of mechanical principlesPrevious experience working in a Contracts Manager or comparable position for a Building Services or MEP subcontractorProven history of overseeing multiple projects across a diverse range of sectors including education, commercial, and residential with values between £100k - £2mKey Skills:IT SkillsSolid analytical skillsQuality and risk managementImpressive leadership abilitiesSuperb negotiation capabilitiesExpertise in budget managementCapacity to effectively negotiate contract terms and conditionsA solid understanding of contract law and relevant regulationsThorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles, systems and technologiesIn-depth understanding of local, national, and international regulations that impact mechanical systemsKey ResponsibilitiesAssigning contractorsApply in-depth mechanical knowledgePrepare, review, negotiate, and implement contractsProvide regular reports to both internal and external stakeholdersFacilitate agreement of terms across client and supplier relationshipsEnsure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policiesImplement and supervise health and safety auditing procedures on-siteEffectively track project budgets and ensure compliance with expenditure limitsOversee the development and review of mechanical system designs and drawingsAssess contract-related risks and develop strategies to address and minimize themCommunicate contractual changes to all stakeholders, administration and/or managementManage contract modifications and assess their impact on the project''s scope, timeline, and budgetCoordinate mechanical installation projects to ensure they align with client and corporate expectationsTrack contractor compliance with contractual obligations and address any performance issues promptlyEnsure that all contract deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications through effective oversightIdentify and address potential issues during contract execution, and negotiate resolutions in a professional mannerMonitor all mechanical installations to guarantee works comply with industry standards, building codes, and client specificationsCoordinate and supervise tenders, cost estimation, and project development throughout preconstruction and construction phasesOversee all aspects of mechanical contracts, encompassing the review, negotiation, and finalization of contract terms and conditionsMaintain detailed documentation of contracts and correspondence, providing management with consistent reports on performance and adherenceAct as the primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical services, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptlyWhy Join?Excellent opportunity to join a people-focused culture that values teamwork and exceptional serviceGain extensive experience across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, retail, industrial, and educationContact Details:Contact: James Shorte (Associate Director) or Thomas Robertshaw (Resourcer) at Caval – 0113 203 ..... full job details .....
