Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace and Defence
Fully Onsite | 12-Month Contract
£33–£35 per hour (Umbrella)
BPSS required, SC clearance to be obtained (in flight)

We’re currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to support a busy and fast-paced assembly environment, working across complex electro-mechanical products. This is a hands-on role focused on improving manufacturing efficiency, supporting multiple projects, and ensuring high-quality builds delivered on time and to budget.

• Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions to support production
• Design, commission, and prove tooling required for assembly processes
• Support industrial validation activities (FMEA, FAI, etc.)
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing and technical issues
• Implement route card updates following rework or process changes
• Manage configuration control, incorporating design changes into manufacturing documentation
• Support non-conformance activities using SAP
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement

• Qualification route:

  • Advanced/Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering/Manufacturing plus Level 4 qualification (HNC/Diploma etc.)
  • OR Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with -5 years’ experience

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate into clear build instructions

• Experience in electronic sub-assembly through to full system builds

• Knowledge of small/miniature electro-mechanical assembly processes

• Strong problem-solving skills within a manufacturing environment

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills across multiple levels of the organisation

• Familiarity with structured processes and procedures
