Manager, Insurance Pricing, Savings and RetirementJob DescriptionThe Savings and Retirement Insurance Pricing team is responsible for producing the best estimate insurance assumptions for clients in our global markets. The team''s responsibilities include Pension Risk Transfer, Individual Retirement, and Savings for Retirement products.
We are hiring a Manager for our Insurance Pricing team to support tender activities across various markets through technical and pricing work. The successful candidate will be based in our London office, Tower Bridge House, St Katharine''s Way.
The RoleAs a proactive and technical actuary, you will work within a team to deliver Savings and Retirement quotes for clients. Your expertise in pricing and experience analysis will support collaboration with the client solutions team to deliver innovative solutions and foster market growth, while meeting client needs.
You will also manage the insurance pricing actuaries and analysts within your team.
Collaborating with the wider pricing team, you will deliver high-quality pricing analysis for client quote opportunities and present these through the internal governance process, gaining visibility with the Savings and Retirement Executive Committee, COO, and CEO.
As a creative thinker, you will support the development of PLRe pricing sophistication by understanding latest techniques and continuously improving internal processes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of new business quotations and market insurance pricing opportunities.
Analyze experience data to identify trends and derive technical pricing bases, communicating findings to stakeholders.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance pricing and industry trends, ensuring developments are incorporated into pricing and technical support.
Support the Client Solutions team in building relationships with clients and promoting the Pacific Life Re brand.
Contribute to internal strategic projects aimed at improving pricing processes and rating factors.
Work closely with the Deal Pricing team to deliver optimal quote solutions for clients.
Qualifications and Experience
Strong technical experience in (re)insurance, consultancy, or statistical roles; experience with GLM and advanced techniques is preferred.
Experience in a pricing role is advantageous but not essential.
Qualified actuary (IFoA or SOA) with 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
Experience in experience analysis and basis setting, including mortality, dependent, and lapse assumptions.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly.
Experience in people management and mentoring actuarial staff.
