The below job description will outline this position of: Management Accountant
Typically, this person will support the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, providing financial analysis to help the business understand costs, monitor performance and improve reporting. Reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, the Management Accountant will focus on gross profit reporting, manufacturing costs, reconciliations and the accuracy of financial information within the ERP system.

Duties and responsibilities of the Management Accountant:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring financial information is accurate and complete.
- Produce monthly gross profit reports, including the reconciliation and reallocation of expenditure against individual jobs.
- Calculate and process work in progress (WIP) and revenue recognition adjustments.
- Review, reconcile and reallocate other productive costs.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Check and upload weekly timesheet information, ensuring labour data is recorded correctly.
- Analyse material costs and committed cost variances, identifying and investigating differences.
- Review labour costs and provide analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Prepare stock usage and variance reports.
- Maintain accurate and consistent information within the ERP system.
- Interpret financial and operational data, highlighting issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and explain financial results.
- Support additional finance activities and reporting requirements as needed.
Qualifications and requirements for the Management Accountant:
- CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent accountancy qualification.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability, with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Lookups, Pivot Tables and Power Query.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational information and present findings clearly.
- Confidence to question incomplete or inaccurate data professionally and constructively.
- Good organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
- Comfortable explaining financial information to colleagues outside the finance team.
- A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and identifying improvements.
- A collaborative and flexible attitude.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

The position is offered on a full-time basis, although part-time arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. Working patterns can be discussed to accommodate key reporting periods, particularly month-end.
