Management Accountant – Lincoln - £40k–£50k & bonus

Benjamin Edwards Recruitment is recruiting for a Management Accountant for a successful and highly regarded business in Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Accountant who wants to get closer to operations, understand what is driving performance and make a genuine impact on how finance supports the wider business. There is also a strong continuous improvement element to the position. As Management Accountant, you will have the opportunity to improve reporting, develop Power BI dashboards and explore how automation, digital tools and AI can make finance processes smarter and more efficient.

The role of Management Accountant

• Support the end-to-end monthly management accounts process and take ownership of the first pass of the P&L

• Prepare accruals, prepayments, provisions, inventory analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyse financial and operational performance, investigating the drivers behind key variances
• Produce revenue and profit analysis across different product families
• Lead work order and variance reviews, identifying trends, risks and root causes
• Support budgeting and forecasting
• Manage fixed asset, depreciation and lease accounting
• Prepare VAT returns and support internal and external audit requirements
• Develop and improve Power BI reporting and dashboards
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate finance processes, reducing manual and non-value-added activity
• Provide constructive financial challenge and insight to operational stakeholders
• Help strengthen processes, documentation and knowledge sharing across the finance team

The ideal candidate for the role of Management Accountant

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or part qualified
• Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience
• Advanced Excel capability and a working knowledge of Power BI, with the ability and willingness to develop stronger dashboard and reporting skills
