A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MAINTENANCE MANAGER AT OUR HOTELTake charge of maintaining our hotels high standards, ensuring every guest space, facility, and behind-the-scenes area operates flawlessly and looks pristineLead and inspire the maintenance team, cultivating a proactive and hands-on approach to repairs, upgrades, and day-to-day operations that support a smooth guest experienceDesign and oversee a preventative maintenance programme, extending the life of equipment and facilities to avoid unexpected interruptions and keep everything running like clockworkCollaborate with other departments to anticipate and swiftly address maintenance needs, from emergency repairs to room upgrades, delivering a reliable and safe environment for guests and staff alikeManage the department budget with a keen eye on cost-effective solutions, tracking expenses, negotiating supplier contracts, and prioritizing repairs and renovationsConduct regular inspections of the hotel, keeping your finger on the pulse of each room, common area, and facility to ensure safety, compliance, and aesthetic standardsFoster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, implementing best practices and encouraging skill development for efficient, high-quality serviceKeep up-to-date with the latest tools, technology, and maintenance techniques to bring fresh ideas and innovations to the property, enhancing both function and form
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOUSolid experience in a maintenance or engineering management role, ideally within hospitality or a similar settingExpertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance, with a proactive approach to problem-solvingStrong leadership skills, with a track record of building motivated, efficient teams that deliver quality resultsFinancial acumen to manage budgets and negotiate contracts without compromising on quality or guest satisfactionOrganizational and multitasking abilities to juggle a range of responsibilities and respond quickly to urgent issuesFlexibility to respond to urgent repairs, including availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call dutiesA passion for maintaining a safe, well-functioning environment that enhances the guest experience
