Position 1 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving site machinery, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the facility.
You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operational while supporting production to achieve key performance targets.
Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns, minimising downtime and disruption to production.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with the maintenance schedule.
- Diagnose faults and identify root causes to prevent recurring machinery issues.
- Request and manage replacement parts as required.
- Work closely with the Production team to improve Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and front-line maintenance practices.
- Support improvements to machinery reliability, efficiency and overall equipment performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and reduce downtime.
- Monitor and contribute towards key maintenance and production KPIs.
- Support continuous improvement projects and ensure agreed improvement plans are delivered.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve production methods, processes and ways of working.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with health & safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain a safe, secure and compliant working environment at all times.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Engineer with strong fault-finding skills and experience within a manufacturing environment.
You will be someone who enjoys solving problems, improving machinery reliability and working collaboratively with production teams to achieve operational targets.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience ideally within manufacturing site
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
