Remedy Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support Post 16 students with complex autism at a specialist provision. The role involves working closely with young people who have significant communication and emotional regulation needs, helping them to access learning and develop independence.
The Role
Support Post 16 learners with autism and additional needs in both classroom and community settings
Assist with communication strategies, including PECs, Makaton or other AAC methods (training can be provided)
Encourage and model positive behaviour, using de-escalation techniques when needed
Help students develop life skills, social skills and confidence for adulthood
Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff to deliver tailored programmes
