Locum Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery

An opportunity to join our team principally based at Colchester Hospital but may be required to undertake some clinical or non-clinical activities at Ipswich Hospital. The post arises to cover substantial workload in trauma and the backfill of elective lists in ESEOC. The Trust recognises the need to increase trauma provision to optimise care for some of our most vulnerable patients. Colchester has a busy Accident and Emergency department with complex lower limb trauma.The post-holder will be expected to work within and help develop the lower limb service and to work in collaboration with the wider MDT. They will be required to attend and contribute to the department''s clinical meetings, audits and clinical governance and, in particular, help develop an academic unit.Responsibilities
Provide and help develop the lower limb service, working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).Attend and contribute to the department''s clinical meetings, audits and clinical governance; contribute to the development of an academic unit.Cover substantial trauma workload and backfill elective lists in ESEOC; participate in general trauma and subspecialty trauma including periprosthetic fractures.On-call commitment: one in 12 (adult and paediatric trauma).About ESNEFT
