About the company

I am currently recruiting on behalf of an automotive OEM, based in West Midlands, who are looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team.

Job Description

As Legal Counsel, your main responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for supporting and protecting the legal interests of the company.
• Advising on global commercial disputes of high value and complexity.
• Supporting stakeholders on dispute resolution and claim recovery workstreams.
• Negotiating and influencing internal and external parties to reach optimum resolutions.
• Development and roll-out of appropriate training, policies and guidelines.
• Instructing and ensuring delivery of external legal counsel, globally.

Experience Required:

• Qualified to practice law in England & Wales.
• Strong experience in general commercial contracts and dispute resolution.
• Knowledge of claims through mediation, arbitration and court proceedings.
• Experience gained at a strong private practice firm and/or in-house.
• Experience of product liability disputes.
• Experience working with automotive, manufacturing and engineering focused clients.
