We are delighted to be supporting in the search for a Legal Cashier to join its friendly and collaborative Finance team.

The Role

As Legal Cashier, you will play a vital role in maintaining the firm’s financial integrity, safeguarding client money and ensuring all transactions are handled accurately and in line with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing client account transactions in line with SAR requirements.
• Completing daily compliance checks and investigating any exceptions.
• Maintaining accurate client ledgers and completing reconciliations.
• Payment processing
• Payment instructions verification.
• Allocating incoming funds and resolving unallocated receipts promptly.
• Providing guidance to fee earners on the correct handling of client monies.
• Producing reports, maintaining records and supporting month-end processes.
• Assisting with audits, procedure updates and Finance team projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Previous Legal Cashier or legal accounts experience within a law firm..
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a busy environment.
• Strong communication skills and confidence building relationships across the firm.
