About the Role
The Supply Register is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to work full time on behalf of Tyne Coast College. This is an excellent opportunity to support students with a range of learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
As an LSA, you will work alongside teaching staff to provide in-class and one-to-one support, ensuring students can fully engage with their learning programmes and develop their confidence, independence, and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide learning support to students within classroom, workshop, and practical settings.
- Support learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), learning difficulties, or additional support requirements.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
- Encourage student participation, independence, and achievement.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to tutors and support teams.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
- Assist with personal care needs where required and appropriate.
- Support students with study skills, organisation, and classroom engagement.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people or adults in an educational, training, or support environment.
- Understanding of SEND and additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, caring, and supportive approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Relevant support qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
