Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs£
Supply Desk are currently working with a large, diverse, and inclusive primary school in Sittingbourne that is committed to nurturing a supportive environment where all students can thrive. The school is seeking calm, adaptable, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support children with SEMH in Key Stage 2 on a full-time basis until July 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH difficulties, helping them engage positively in learning.
- Implement targeted intervention programmes to support social, emotional, and academic development.
- Support students in developing emotional regulation strategies and building positive relationships.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENDCO to create a nurturing and structured environment.
- Promote a safe, inclusive classroom where all children can participate confidently in learning activities.
- Monitor and report on students'' progress, celebrating successes and identifying areas for further support.
- Encourage positive behaviour in line with the schoolandrsquo;s policies and provide appropriate support when challenges arise.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly.
What Weandrsquo;re Looking For:
- Experience supporting primary or secondary-aged children with SEND, specifically SEMH needs.
- A calm, adaptable, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to implement behaviour management strategies effectively.
- A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
