As a teaching assistant working with special needs, you will need to be able to:Stay calm when dealing with challenging situationsUse clear and simple instructionsValidate the child''s feelings without judgementUse calming tools and resourcesWork well in a team environment About you:Experience working with children, ideally those with special educational needsUnderstanding of different types of special educational needsExperience with specialist communication methods (e.g. Makaton, PECS, BSL, AAC devices) is desirableWillingness to assist with personal care needs where required (feeding, toileting, mobility assistance).
