About the role:
Prospero Teaching are seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a successful secondary school in Upminster. Working with students aged 11-16, you will provide both classroom and small group support for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and social development needs. The school offers a range of targeted interventions and social hub provisions designed to promote confidence, independence and positive social interaction.

We''re looking for a dedicated candidate to:

  • Support students with additional learning needs in lessons across the curriculum
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support academic progress and personal development
  • Encourage communication, confidence and engagement in learning
  • Assist pupils in developing social skills through structured support programmes and social hubs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment

Requirements -

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
  • Knowledge of Moderate Learning Difficulties and Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people
