GSL Education is currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Southampton from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact on students’ academic and personal development.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day support of students who may require extra guidance to engage fully in their learning. You’ll work alongside teachers and the SEN department to ensure pupils are confident, motivated, and well-equipped to reach their goals.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting learners within the classroom across a range of subjects
• Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions to aid understanding and engagement
• Helping to create an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Assisting pupils with special educational needs, emotional needs, or social difficulties
• Acting as a positive role model, promoting resilience and independence

What We’re Looking For:

• A caring, reliable individual with a strong interest in education
• Prior experience working with young people in any capacity (school, youth work, tutoring, etc.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to different situations
• Commitment to child safeguarding and welfare
