Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Eastbourne
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Are you looking to build on your experience supporting children with additional needs? GSL Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Eastbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with children with special educational needs in a supportive and nurturing environment.
About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant in this specialist setting, you''ll work with pupils who have a range of additional needs including autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs. You''ll be part of a dedicated team focused on helping each child achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with their individual learning programmes and personal care needs
- Assist with behaviour management using positive approaches
- Help create a calm and structured learning environment
- Support pupils with life skills and independence
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in school, care, or youth work settings)
- Understanding of autism and other learning difficulties
- A caring, patient and resilient approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
