About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs. You will help create a positive, nurturing environment where all children feel valued and can achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing targeted support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
- Assisting in the delivery of differentiated learning activities
- Supporting classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils to reinforce learning
- Helping to assess pupil progress and record observations
- Promoting inclusion and positive behaviour across the school
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about working with children
- Patient, caring, and adaptable
- Able to work as part of a team and use their initiative
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSEs or equivalent)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language needs)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification)
