Lead / Senior Quantity Surveyor

First People Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected main contractor based in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of design & build, refurbishment and new-build projects across the education, healthcare, commercial and public sectors throughout Scotland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational teams and senior management to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the commercial performance of multiple design & build and construction projects
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts
• Producing accurate cost reports and forecasts
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
• Supporting operational teams throughout project delivery
• Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and financial objectives

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years'' experience within a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a main contractor delivering design & build, refurbishment or new-build projects
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Experience operating at Senior QS level or ready to step into a senior role
• Strong contractual and commercial awareness
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Full UK driving licence
