Overview

Lead Radiographer Nuclear Medicine and PETCTWe are looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated, dynamic, innovative and professional individual to join an established multidisciplinary Nuclear Medicine team. You will support the operational management of the service across the LUHFT site, ensuring appropriate workflows are maintained. You will provide leadership and support the education of Radiographers, Technologists and Radiographic assistants. You should hold a postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine and have extensive clinical experience. Leadership and demand management experience is essential.Responsibilities

Accountable for the day-to-day operational management of the Nuclear Medicine, PET CT and BMD departments across sites and to ensure service standardisation within the extended day.Take the operational lead within the Nuclear Medicine/PET CT/DEXA department.Lead development and regulation of new protocols and write/implement all standard operating procedures for Nuclear Medicine/PETCT/DEXA.Facilitate research opportunities in Nuclear Medicine/PETCT/DEXA.Provide leadership, support and guidance to junior medical staff, radiographers, and students.Maintain a safe working environment; exercise stock control and be responsible for the efficient use of and ordering of consumables.Liaise with equipment manufacturers and external representatives to evaluate new products and technology within Trust guidelines.Participate in multi-disciplinary team working and attend MDT meetings as required.Co-ordinate Nuclear Medicine/PET CT extended working rota to maximise capacity.Maintain a team of Nuclear Medicine/PETCT/DEXA radiographers to a level of competency for smooth operation during absences.Practice within the rules of the Health Professions Council and contribute to the delivery of Trust objectives.Contribute to 7/7 working and ensure effective communication with patients, carers and health care professionals.Maintain accurate documentation pertinent to examinations and supervise/training of radiographers and trainee nuclear medicine radiologists.Ensure infection control measures are utilized and manage equipment and linen per departmental protocol.Time management and prioritisation to make decisions in complex and unpredictable circumstances.Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine.Extensive clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine with leadership and demand management experience.Organisation and Context
