Job summary

Lead Superintendent Radiographer - Fluoroscopy, Interventional and Cardiac Radiology. We are looking for a forward thinking enthusiastic radiographer to lead Fluoroscopy, Interventional and Cardiac Radiology services at Croydon Health Services. The successful candidate will ensure the service provided is safe and effective as well as meeting the relevant targets. This is a key leadership role in the department with opportunities to develop managerial and organisational skills. The service comprises a newly built Fluoroscopy lab, an Interventional Lab and a Cardiac Lab, as well as 6 Theatre Mobile Image Intensifiers. The Radiology department performs in excess of 250,000 examinations per annum and has an active Clinical Governance programme. There are approximately 150 staff in post in the Diagnostic Imaging department, including 26 Consultant Radiologists and Specialty Grade Doctors. Croydon University Hospital is a large urban DGH in South London serving a diverse population of 360,000 with easy access to central London and the south coast. The post-holder will assume day to day organisation of the staff and resources in their modality to ensure effective utilisation of available resources.The post holder will provide leadership and direct line management to Radiographers and Helpers, in collaboration with the other Lead Radiographers with support from the Head of Radiology.The post holder will lead on the investigation of patient complaints and incidents, the drafting of responses and devising and implementing any associated action plans.The post holder will lead on the recruitment and retention of staff within their modality and for rotational staff within the department.The post holder will be required to participate in the Governance of the Department including Risk Management, Health and Safety, Research and Audit activities.The post-holder will work closely with the radiologist team to ensure protocols are optimised as appropriate.The post-holder will ensure all staff working within their modality are suitably trained and signed off as competent to use the equipment and work under CUH protocols in-hours and out of hours.The post holder is responsible for ordering specialist equipment, day to day management of service contracts and organising temporary staffing for the team they manage when required.To provide a high level of clinical experience within Radiology, ensuring staff are supported with the appropriate level of clinical expertise.About us
