Lead Pharmacist

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Services team at Scimitar Park, Harlow. This is a full-time, on-site role with no on-call or night shift requirements. You will lead a team of direct reports, providing mentorship, coaching, and operational oversight to ensure the safe and effective delivery of specialist medications.

This is a non-patient-facing role, focused on high-cost, specialist medications not commonly seen in community pharmacy. You’ll be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of pharmaceutical care, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities-Act as the Responsible Pharmacist overseeing all pharmacy operations-Ensure compliance with GPhC standards and regulatory requirements-Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pharmacists and technicians-Provide subject matter expertise to business projects and audits-Oversee the safe and accurate dispensing of medications-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive service excellenceWhat a Typical Day Looks Like-Leading the shift team, ensuring smooth operations-Reviewing and checking prescriptions for accuracy and compliance-Supporting technical training and mentoring staff-Liaising with internal teams (e.g., QA, compounding, customer services)-Managing performance and supporting development plans

-GPhC-registered Pharmacist with Independent Prescribing qualification-Proven experience in a senior or team leadership role

-Independent Prescriber with practical experience-Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality assurance-Ability to manage high-pressure situations and maintain composure-Excellent communication, mentoring, and organisational skills
