HMP Leeds is a category B men''s prison housing males aged 21+. Within this role you will be overseeing the delivery of a high quality GP service at HMP Leeds, and clinically supervise 4 GPs, 2 ANPs, 1 trainee ANP and 1 Trainee MNP. You will also assist with training, rotas, clinical sessions, as well as leading MPCCC and safer prescribing meetings. HMP Leeds has a fast paced healthcare service where no two days are the same.Hours
This role is full time working 40 hours per week. This will include morning, afternoon and evening sessions between Monday to Friday.Salary
This is a full time role; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £129,500 per annum - depending on experience.How we will support you

Provide medical leadership and expert advice regarding medical and primary care issuesIdentify and utilise evidence based best practice through benchmarking and clinical guidelinesChair the MPCCC and safer prescribing meetings and support 72 hour review meetingsEnsure systems and processes are in place for managing results, letters, tasksBe a core member of the local QA and MM meetingsReview RCA findings and engage with action planning, ensuring lessons learned are embeddedSupport the development of Local Operating PoliciesSupport the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetingsAttend Clinical ForumsReview CVs for potential new GPs and locum/agency GPs and support the recruitment of new GPs into the serviceOversee the induction of new GPs into the local siteSupport other GPs working in the service with peer review and clinical supervisionSupport the Head of Healthcare with any discussions about poor performance and escalate if necessary to regional cluster lead where considering referral to DMGBenefits

MBChB or MBBSInclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers ListRCGP 1 and 2 substance misuse qualifications or a willingness to undertake the qualificationsAbility to work with patients with a history of substance misuseInterest in long term conditionsEvidence of continuing professional developmentKnowledge and methods of developing clinical quality assuranceAbility to develop evidence based best practiceOther requirements
