Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer Swindon £60,000 - £70,000 + 10% Bonus We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business working on complex, bespoke machinery and equipment. This is a varied, customer-facing role for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys being involved in the full engineering process. Lead Engineer Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the technical direction and mechanical design of complex machinery, mechanisms, special purpose machinery and bespoke equipment Produce, check and approve robust mechanical design solutions in line with client specifications, national standards and regulatory requirements Produce and oversee detailed 3D CAD designs and 2D manufacturing drawings, ideally using Autodesk Inventor Produce and verify engineering design calculations and check the technical solutions of other engineers Review designs and drawings for suitability for manufacture and contribute to manufacturability reviews Act as the technical authority and point of escalation for engineering queries, technical problems and design solutions Take ownership of allocated engineering projects from initial enquiry/order through to successful completion Coordinate engineering documentation and workshop activity in line with project programmes Work closely with production to plan and prioritise workshop loading, resources and material availability Monitor projects against cost, time and quality targets, ..... full job details .....
