Lead Asset Manager

Astute''s Renewables team is partnered with an established renewable energy business operating across the UK and Ireland to recruit a Lead Asset Manager based in Milton Keynes, with some UK travel required.

The Lead Asset Manager role offers a salary up to -52k depending on experience, along with private healthcare, life assurance, pension, flexible working, and a discretionary performance bonus.

Responsibilities and duties of the Lead Asset Manager role

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager you will:

• Lead the operational, commercial, contractual and financial performance of a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets across the UK.
• Act as the primary client contact, building strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring excellent service delivery.
• Manage and optimise asset performance, monitoring KPIs, identifying trends and risks, and implementing corrective actions to maximise asset value and minimise downtime.
• Oversee O&M contracts, service agreements, contract compliance, renewals and commercial risk management.
• Support budgeting and cost control, while identifying revenue-generating opportunities that enhance portfolio profitability and client outcomes.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Asset Managers, fostering accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Proven experience managing the technical operations of utility-scale solar assets or similar renewable energy technologies.
• Strong understanding of solar technology, asset performance and SCADA systems.
• Proven experience managing O&M contracts and contractual obligations.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks, trends and opportunities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing a team.
