The Role:
As a Land Buyer, you will take the lead on identifying and acquiring new land opportunities. You''ll manage the acquisition process and collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. Your work will directly feed the business''s development pipeline, providing vital opportunities for ongoing sales and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and secure new land opportunities through detailed site searches and local market intelligence
- Produce financial development appraisals and feasibility studies
- Lead negotiations with agents and landowners
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations for internal land acquisition approvals
- Collaborate with planning, technical, and commercial teams throughout the acquisition lifecycle
- Conduct regular market research to support land acquisition strategies
- Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities and land agents
About You:
- Proven experience in land buying within residential development
- Understanding of planning and development processes
- Commercially astute with the ability to appraise land opportunities
- Strong report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- IT proficient, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant degree (real estate, planning, surveying, or related discipline preferred)
