Labourer

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer/Fettler to join our clients engineering team. This hands-on role involves supporting fabrication and manufacturing processes, including the cleaning, grinding, and preparation of metal components to ensure quality finish and readiness for further production or dispatch.

• Use hand and power tools (e.g., grinders, sanders) to clean and finish metal components

• Remove sharp edges, burrs, weld spatter, and imperfections from fabricated parts

• Assist with general labouring duties around the workshop and production floor, FLT licence is a bonus but not essential

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas

• Support tradespeople as required

• Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards

• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment (preferred)

• Experience with fettling, grinding, or working with metal components (preferred)

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Physically fit and capable of manual handling and standing for long periods

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Reliable and punctual

• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)

• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team

• Full training and ongoing support
