Position: Lab Support Technician

Role Purpose
As a Lab Support Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Chemical Reagent Management Store. Your responsibilities will include the ordering, receipt, storage, and disposal of chemical reagents. You''ll ensure that all activities are performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chemical Ordering & Sourcing: Dive into chemical databases, raise orders, and manage the receipt of new reagents from both internal and external suppliers.
  • Sample Processing: Efficiently process and track incoming chemistry and reagent samples using available IT systems.
  • Customer Communication: Act as a liaison for internal customers, resolving order queries and keeping them informed every step of the way.
  • IT & Data Management: Utilise digital tools and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to log, track, and manage requests with precision.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards while proactively reporting any incidents or near misses.

      • Qualifications & Experience:
      • - A Levels or a degree in a life science discipline (Chemistry preferred).
        - Experience in a scientific research or laboratory environment is a plus.
        - Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with databases or LIMS systems is beneficial.
