About the Role:
Kitchen Porter andndash; School Catering (Yeovil)
We are currently seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and hard-working Kitchen Porter to support our clientsandrsquo; schools in the Yeovil area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to support the smooth running of school meal services.
As this role is based within schools, an Enhanced DBS is required. If you do not currently have one, we can assist you in applying for one for andpound;61, or provide the necessary information for you to apply independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Assist with dishwashing, pot washing, and general cleaning duties
Support catering staff with basic food preparation when required
Ensure all areas meet food hygiene and health andamp; safety standards in line with school policies
Help with setting up and clearing down service areas
Provide a reliable and supportive service to catering teams
Essential Requirements:
A current Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar catering/kitchen role is desirable
Strong understanding of hygiene and safety practices
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to the needs of the school
A positive attitude and willingness to take on varied duties as required
