We value curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning — if you want to grow into a confident delivery professional while working on high-impact initiatives, this is the role for you.Role overviewWe are looking for a proactive and highly organised Junior Project Manager to support delivery across three priority technology initiatives: Microsoft EoL (Windows 11 rollout), Group Network Upgrades, and wider Ultima programmes. You will work closely with Project and Programme Managers, technical teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders, providing day-to-day coordination, status reporting, and stakeholder communications to keep workstreams moving smoothly.What you’ll doMicrosoft EoL (Windows 11 rollout)Maintain and update detailed rollout plans, resource trackers and schedules.Coordinate deployment windows with suppliers and business users.Track dependencies, risks and actions; escalate to the Project Manager when needed.Collaborate with Communications to prepare rollout emails, FAQs and user guidance.Help run user clinics and adoption sessions; provide multi-channel user support (email/chat/calls).Maintain defect and issue trackers; assist with triage and status reporting.Produce weekly progress reports and dashboards; track deployment KPIs (success rate, user satisfaction, resolution time).Group Network UpgradesTrack upgrade activities across multiple sites and maintain a central programme tracker.Coordinate with IT, Facilities and suppliers for access, installations and SLAs.Log and monitor issues/risks and support escalation processes.Assist with user impact communications and change notices.Ultima ProgrammesSupport Project and Programme Managers with planning, rollouts and cross-workstream coordination.Help track dependencies, resource allocations and delivery timelines.Maintain issue logs and support testing cycles and feedback collection.Produce regular status updates and help prepare programme reports.General day-to-dayFacilitate meetings, take minutes and maintain action logs.Keep project documentation up to date: RAID logs, trackers, dashboards and knowledge base articles.Act as a primary point of contact for suppliers and third parties on assigned tasks.Support CAB submissions and follow CAB outcome actions where applicable.Skills and experienceEssentialExperience in a Project Manager/ Junior Project Manager or similar roleStrong organisational skills and attention to detail.Clear written and verbal communicator; comfortable liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience using Microsoft Office, Teams and at least one project tracking tool (Planner, Jira, MS Project or similar).Ability to manage multiple priorities and keep stakeholders informed.DesirableExperience in IT infrastructure or software deployment projects (migrations, rollouts, network upgrades).Familiarity with CAB/change management processes.Basic understanding of Windows migrations and networking concepts.Certifications or training in project delivery (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation, APM Intro, Agile Foundation).Personal attributesDetail-oriented and proactive — you spot issues early and act on them.Collaborative and team-focused — you support colleagues and suppliers to get things done.Calm under pressure and adaptable to shifting priorities.Curious and eager to learn technical subjects quickly.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking ability.What success looks like (first 6 months)Accurate, up-to-date rollout and programme trackers for all three initiatives.Improved stakeholder confidence through timely, clear communications and weekly reports.Low outstanding defect backlog for assigned streams and timely escalation of high-risk items.Active participation in user clinics and evidence of user feedback captured and actioned.Why join UltimaStructured coaching and a clear development path from Junior Project Manager to Project Manager.Real responsibility on high-visibility, high-impact programmes.Competitive benefits package and flexible hybrid working in Birmingham.A supportive team culture that invests in your ..... full job details .....
