M&E Project Manager

Job Title: Multi-Discipline Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Project Manager
Main Purpose of Job:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Multi-Discipline Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Project Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of complex building services projects across mechanical, electrical, and public health systems. This role is critical in managing and ensuring technical compliance, controlling budgets, and delivering projects on time and within scope across a variety of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial.
Salary Bracket: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum
Department: Mechanical & Electrical Division
Reports To: Head of Electrical
Main Duties
Project Management:

Lead M&E projects from conception through to completion, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.

Prepare and manage detailed project programs, resource plans, and procurement schedules.

Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet changing requirements and priorities.
Technical Oversight:

Review and approve M&E designs and specifications, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and best practices.

Interface with design consultants, subcontractors, and on-site personnel to resolve design or installation issues.

Ensure that mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and electrical (power, lighting, BMS, ELV) systems are integrated and commissioned effectively.
Cost and Budget Management:

Manage project budgets, control costs, and produce financial forecasts and reports.

Evaluate and approve change orders, ensuring clear documentation and justification.

Identify and implement value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.

Proficient in using CRM software such as SimPro.
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE):

Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.

Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and legislation.

Promote and enforce a culture of safety and accountability across project teams.
Team and Stakeholder Management:

Lead and motivate cross-functional teams of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Chair project meetings and communicate regularly with all stakeholders.

Ensure excellent customer service and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related field).

Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, APM) desirable.

5+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary M&E projects.

Strong technical knowledge across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.

Proven experience with project planning tools.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Familiarity with construction regulations, building codes, and industry standards.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in high-value construction or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with BIM, CAD, and other digital engineering tools.
Experience working within design & build contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
