A specialist SEN school in High Wycombe is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position, ideal for an educator with a passion for supporting students with autism, as well as associated needs such as speech and language difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and behavioural regulation.
You will be working in a nurturing and well-resourced environment, with small class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio. The school is dedicated to providing individualised learning that empowers every pupil to succeed and reach their full potential.
About the Role:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to the diverse needs of pupils with complex SEN, with a particular focus on autism
- Establish structured routines and utilise visual supports to enhance communication, understanding, and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, holistic support for each pupil
- Track, assess, and report progress in accordance with EHCP outcomes and personalised learning targets
- Implement evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation, promote independence, and build life skills
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports both learning and well-being
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute actively to the broader life of the school community
The ideal candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Proven experience teaching Computer Science at secondary school level
- In-depth knowledge of the UK Computer Science curriculum
- A dynamic, hands-on, and engaging teaching approach
- Strong classroom management and effective communication skills
- Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
