Installing and maintaining the school’s IT estate covering both hardware and softwareProviding first line support to staff, students and parents via face-to-face, telephone and email communicationInvestigating, analysing, evaluating and resolving problems with ICT equipment and systems; implementing repairs if necessary and updating relevant ticketing systemsEnsuring that all documentation is updated in line with department processesEnsuring that the Trusts IT hardware and software inventory is accurately maintainedUsing industry standard imaging/deployment toolsSupporting out of hours events on a rota basisVisiting other schools in the Trust to provide support as requiredPerforming any other duties and tasks which may be assigned by the Senior TechnicianYou will need the following skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating SystemsBasic knowledge of Microsoft products especially the latest version of OfficeBasic knowledge of IT hardware including PC’s, Laptops, projectors, printers, interactive devices and mobile devicesWillingness to learn new skills and understand new technologiesGood written, verbal, communication and numeracy skillsAbility to relate positively to young peopleAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamA flexible approachAdditionally, the following skills would be beneficial
An interest in computer hardware especially PC and AppleAn interest in mobile device software and how they can be used in an educational environmentAn interest in networking technologies/protocolsGood organisational and time management skillsEntry requirements
The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subjectGCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject. You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.Find out more
