Role overviewNomura''s investment banking division provides advisory and capital-raising solutions to corporations, financial institutions, governments and public-sector organizations worldwide. Our global teams act as geographic, product and industry specialists, with a focus on domestic, regional and cross-border collaboration in MandA, Debt Advisory, DCM and related solutions. Sector coverage includes Consumer, FIG, Industrials, Natural Resources and Power, and Financial Sponsors.
Responsibilities
Work with industry and geographical coverage teams to structure and raise debt capital in the context of MandA transactions or stand-alone refinancing / debt raises
Maintain close contact with clients to understand portfolios and financing needs (growth, capex, maturity, etc.)
Develop a deep understanding and network of potential lenders
Produce content and deliver marketing and transaction execution
Lead or main execution contact across all phases of transaction execution and escalate pinch-points as needed
Manage junior resource workstreams with respect to modelling, due diligence, and marketing material preparations
Lead negotiation with lenders on terms of financial agreements on behalf of clients
Assist with pitch preparation and support in pitch delivery with MDs/EDs
Stay abreast of market opportunities and support, and sometimes lead marketing efforts
Develop and maintain client relationships
Train and develop junior bankers; participate in recruiting and talent management initiatives
Qualifications and skills
Experience in Investment Banking, Transaction Services or boutique advisory
Strong academic record
Desire to originate and execute high-profile debt advisory mandates
Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients and professionals
Strong teamwork and collaboration across groups/regions
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines
