Interim Financial Controller12-month FTCLondon Hybrid (3 days in office)A prestigious and mission-driven not for profit organisation is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to lead the finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

Our client is seeking a senior finance leader to take ownership of financial control, compliance, and technical accounting, with the opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation that combines a rich heritage with a progressive, forward-thinking culture. This is a hands-on role with strategic influence, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial control and compliance across the organisation.Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process.Provide expert advice on VAT and Gift Aid, ensuring regulatory compliance.Manage and develop a team of eight finance professionals covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Statutory Accounts, and Treasury.Manage and develop the Payroll and Pensions team, ensuring adherence to UK legislation.Maintain and enhance financial systems, processes, and internal controls.Collaborate with senior stakeholders to support financial planning and reporting.Ensure compliance with Charity SORP and other relevant accounting standards.Qualifications and Experience:A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).Significant experience in financial control, audit, and compliance.Strong working knowledge of UK accounting standards, including Charity SORP.Expertise in VAT and Gift Aid within a not-for-profit or complex organisation.Experience managing payroll and pensions in line with UK regulations.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate.Applicants should be available at short noticePlease note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide.
