25 hours per week at Reading (RG6) + 10 hours per week relief across Sheltered and Extra Care Schemes including Reading, Newbury, Thatcham, and Windsor area. As the Scheme Manager and Relief Scheme Manager you''re the familiar face people trust – the one who notices when something’s off, listens without judgment, and keeps everything ticking along behind the scenes with quiet confidence.It’s about creating spaces that feel like home, building relationships that matter, and doing it all with warmth, empathy, and a no-nonsense approach.DUTIESYour duties as a Housing Scheme Manager and Relief Scheme Manager will include:Health and Safety and Fire Checks: Be accountable for Health and Safety and Fire safety checks including comprehensive and clearly auditable records. Effective liaison between internal departments as necessarySafeguarding: You’ll know what to look for and take swift, appropriate action when needed, and you will be responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting on the general safety and wellbeing of customers, including signposting, and referring customers to support services’ where appropriatePartnership Working: Liaising with care providers, GPs, social services, families – keeping it all joined upBeing the ‘go-to’: You’ll be the first port of call for residents, families, and professionals alikeEffective management of the building and estate to ensure effective health and safety management, security and cleanliness of the site. This will include things such as reporting repairs, undertaking fire alarms, conducting pull cord checks and effective recording of thisEffectively manage the termination of tenancies and associated liaison with the voids, lettings team and contractorsResponsible for customer engagement and consultation, facilitate customers’ aspirations for social and wellbeing activities, proactively engaging with care, statutory, and voluntary agencies, ensuring the service and site is accessible to all.Manage low level ASB cases in accordance with policies and procedures working with the Housing team and provide clear guidance to customers reporting ASBAssist customers to claim Housing Benefit and other welfare benefits, to ensure rent arrears are reduced and rent is paid regularly and on timeSupporting colleagues and managing cover at Extra Care Schemes. Working in collaboration with third party onsite care providersCompleting KPI’s returns as outlined in Support Contract set by Local AuthorityCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSEssentialA driving licence and access to a car is essential for the roleIntermediate MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systemsProven experience in a customer-facing role within care and/or supportProven experience of working with vulnerable people and community groupsConfidence with Health and Safety basicsSound working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice frameworksDesirableLevel 3 in Housing or Supported HousingHealth and Safety qualificationKnowledge of welfare benefits like Housing Benefit or UCBENEFITS25 days’ holiday (Plus Bank Holidays) pro rata increasing up to 28 days pro rata with 3 years of serviceUp to 8% contributory pensionFlexible workingInvestment in your learning and developmentGenerous annual allowance of up to £300 to use towards health and lifestyle benefits for both you and your familyCycle to Work Scheme whereby employees have access to cycling equipment throughout the year and can pay via monthly salary deductionsThe organisation recognises that some people will only apply for a role if they meet 100% of role requirements.
